FELLOWS

The CBDC Tracker is the product of an 8-month fellowship at the Human Rights Foundation where fellows track the progress of CBDCs in every country in the world and flag risks for civil liberties. The fellowship was awarded to Nicholas Anthony, Janine Römer, and Matthew Mezinskis in February 2023.

  • Nicholas Anthony

    Nicholas Anthony is a policy analyst at the Cato Institute’s Center for Monetary and Financial Alternatives. Anthony’s research covers a wide range of topics within the field of monetary and financial economics, including financial privacy, cryptocurrencies, and the use of money in society.

  • Janine Römer

    Janine is a privacy researcher, independent investigative journalist, and educator on the topics of informational self-determination, financial technology, and (counter)surveillance. She is the author of ‘This Month In Bitcoin Privacy’ (TMIBP) newsletter, and a board member of Open Sats.

  • Matthew Mezinskis

    Matthew is a corporate finance professional. Since 9 January 2017 he hosts the Crypto Voices podcast, and from 9 January 2023 he creates macro and money videos on the YouTube channel, Porkopolis Economics. You can learn more at https://porkopolis.io/basemoney
